Religious piano music for children

NOTE: This page is under construction.  Instruction video coming soon.

Since I started teaching my little girl piano, she has begged and begged me to be able to play her very favorite song in the world, which is "I am a Child of God".  I color coded it with solfege and she has taken off with it.  I was thinking about how reading the scriptures has helped so many children to learn how to read.  I would like to apply that principle to music by making primary songs more assessable to young children and this page is dedicated to that pursuit.  I will be adding many more over the next while and I will take requests, not limited to LDS music.

To make the most of these printables, I recommend making a Movable Do Piano Insert.  You can place the insert behind the piano and slide it around based on what key the music is in.  This gives children a handy reference to not only see which notes to play via color in any key, but it also will help them learn to recognize patterns in music, particularly of the major scale with whole step, whole step, half step, whole step, whole step, whole step, half step.  With this insert, my 3-year-old has been able to play through all of these songs, and she loves it!  She now loves to sing I am a Child of God in solfege as an alternative verse.  I hope your children will enjoy the primary favorites as much as she has.

I am a Child of God (melody only)
Jesus wants Me for a Sunbeam (melody only)

The following are color-coded versions of the Church's "I Can Play It" program.  Go to their site to listen to a podcast of the music and find the original music.  More coming soon!

2013
I am a Child of God
My Heavenly Father Loves Me

2012
As a Child of God
I feel my Savior's love
I'm trying to be like Jesus
Nephi's Courage
